FAQs about this Account

I use DeviantArt to display my commissions. I get a lot of questions and comments about the characters being undeveloped, so I thought I'd post information about commissions here.

Why are there only pieces of stories everywhere?
I do not take novel-length commissions, I only accept short stories. So the stories are often snippets from the creator's larger tale.

Why don't you spend a lot of time describing and explaining the characters?
I don't think commissioners want to re-read their characters' backstories with every order, so I assume my target audience (i.e. the commissioner) already knows the characters backstories.

Why don't you post links so we can read more about the creator's characters
It's easier just to assume that everyone wants privacy when it comes to their characters. Some of the pairings are jointly owned, and some of the art is drawn by other people, so I find it's better to simply leave out the extra information so that the creators and other artists the creators have hired are not offended by what they've received.

Why are you posting them on DA where anyone can read them if they're only for a specific audience?
For one thing, most of the people that order from me are on DA, so they can +fav the commissions to easily find them again. It also allows them to share the commissions easily with other people by simply posting the link rather than having to e-mail a word document or something similar. I've tried several different ways of posting commissions, and DA really seems the best option for everyone.

Real Life Commission Information
Original Fiction

oh hello

Journal Entry: Wed Jun 22, 2011, 10:08 PM
I'm officially posting my original fiction here at xisney.net! It's mainly slash with smut, just as a heads up. There's two complete novellas on the site and The Secret Agent and the Assassin is being updated there as well. I'm pretty excited.

You can follow updates through my tumblr or my twitter if you don't like the feed on the site or checking every Sunday for updates.

My Real Life Commission information has moved because it was getting a little busy looking on DeviantArt and it should be easier to read there. You can still note me on DA to order, and my prices and process hasn't changed any.

(And, to complement my journal, here is a link to my MFU fanfic. I will write another one! Eventually, anyway.)

Oh that's a real shame, I'm sorry about the unemployment! Hopefully you'll get a lot of orders?
I'm just working my butt off now because I'm moving to a place with double the rent, and work has informed me that they're going to start giving me less hours in September. I'm a little worried about being laid off since they've been hinting around about it for a while, but it hasn't happened yet so that's something!

Hey, wanted to drop you a line and tell you that I really like your original fiction site. I like what you're doing, your 'tip jar' and the layout of the site itself. Very nice! I hope you're being grandly rewarded for your excellent writing and friendly internet persona. ^_^

Hi :)
Are you familiar with the Tintin (comic series)?

:iconxisney:
Hey! Vaguely. I haven't read it in years, but I've always wanted to re-read it! The series is currently just sitting around waiting to be read. May I ask why?

Because I'm thinking about a commissioned Tintin fanfic - I love reading them but can't really write (I'm a painter) XD
If you have the time, and feel like it, and ideally, if you like the series AND Tintin/Haddock slash or Haddock/Skut (my favorite pairings) ^_^ I'm willing to wait until you've re-read the comics :D

What are your fees for stories, for different word lengths?

My goodness and you are a beautiful painter <3
Sorry, I was a bit spaced out when I read this (I should never reply to things before I shower), and I should have realized it was for a commission! I'd definitely like the excuse to read the series, and it's probably safe to assume I'll like the slash. (I already do after looking at some of your slash works of them, ahahaha <33)

Basically, I'm $5 for every 500-800 words. So a short story that's 2,500-4,000 words would be $25. That being said, I always aim for the highest word count, so most people who go for the $25 option receive around 3,500 words. I generally don't offer more than 3,000-4,500 words simply because I feel as if the writing starts to get sloppy because I make things too complicated in my head. And I always charge after the story's written. There's some overlap in the word counts, so I usually charge for the lowest word count. (For example, if you wanted to pay $25 for a 2,500-4,000 word short story and you ended up with a 2,600 word short story, I'd charge you the $20 instead of the $25.) Sometimes stories end up a bit shorter so that the story ends more neatly.

However, I'm in the midst of rethinking my pricing structure (since there is so much overlap) and I'm willing to negotiate! The reason why the prices are high is mainly because it takes me a while to think up an idea and plot the story out. So the more help I get plot-wise with the story, the smoother the story goes.
